Hip-Hop Block Party 2022

2022 marked the year for the first ever Hip-Hop block party at The National Museum of African American History and Culture. With the event commemorating the first anniversary of the release of the Smithsonian Anthology of Hip-Hop and Rap, my role as a designer was to craft a visual landscape that mirrored the vibrancy and influence of hip-hop. The challenge was not only to capture the essence of hip-hop as a musical genre but also to reflect its broader impact on culture and society.

Design elements created ranged from instagram filters to promotional materials to backdrops for the performances on the main stage. The event was a success with a turnout of over 8,000 people and performances by artists such as The Halluci Nation and Grammy-nominated rapper D Smoke
