#HiddenHerstory - An Award Winning Social Media Campaign

#HiddenHerstory is a campaign that The National Museum of African American History and Culture runs every year during Women’s History Month. In this year of commemorating Women's History Month, my role as the designer was not merely about creating visuals but crafting an immersive journey celebrating the achievements and resilience of women throughout history.

My intent with this campaign was to blend graphic elements that honored the past while embracing the present and future aspirations of women. The result was a visual narrative that not only acknowledged the remarkable contributions of women across generations but also sparked meaningful conversations. We were able to earn more than 64,000 engagements and nearly 2 million impressions across social media platforms.

The success of this endeavor was not only recognized within Smithsonian and NMAAHC circles but also on a broader stage. I and my team were honored to have been awarded first place in the “Best in Visual Editing” category at the 2022 Ragan Video, Visual, & Virtual Awards. This accolade serves as a testament to the effectiveness of the design in communicating a powerful message and resonating with audiences on a profound level.
